Access for Sight Impaired Consumers is pleased to announce our discussions regarding accessible prescription labels with London Drugs has proven successful. These prescription labels are now available at all 78 London Drugs locations throughout British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
Encoded prescription labels will provide an audio output of the prescription information by way of an En-Vision America’s ScripTalk Reader which is provided free of charge by requesting one be sent directly to you through any London Drugs pharmacy. En-Vision America will ship a ScripTalk Reader directly to your home or office at no charge to you.
When you or your physician presents a new or repeat prescription to be filled by the pharmacy, simply ask the pharmacist to afix an encoded RFID label to the prescription bottle. London Drugs will provide the encoded label at no additional charge. Your ability to identify and manage your prescription medications entirely on your own has now become an even greater reality!
All London Drugs locations have now joined a growing number of socially responsible pharmacies which have come to understand the challenge of attempting to manage prescription medications with a vision loss. We appreciate their willingness to listen, to understand and respond in such a positive manner. Along with the many pharmacies within all Overwaitea Food Group stores (e.g. PriceSmart Foods, Save- On Foods, Coopers Foods, Urban Fair, Bulkley Valley Wholesale, and Overwaitea Foods) as well as Peoples Drug Mart pharmacies throughout BC, consumers with vision loss or other print disabilities now have an even wider variety of choice for accessible prescription information.
