Demonstration Vi​deos

  • For those who have been curious to discover how people who are blind or sight-impaired can take advantage of the revolutionary new iPhone, will get a small peek into the accessibility features of the Apple iPhone through this video demonstration. Be patient as this sighted fellow verbally walks you through the various features. In just a few short minutes, he gets to the “Voice Over” or screen-reading capabilities.

  • RNIB (Royal National Institute of the Blind) recently introduced the PENFriend- a compact, audio labelling device which enables the user to create customized labels and affix them to bottles, tin cans and other packaging to assist in quickly identifying items in the kitchen, the home or in the office. Labels can also be affixed to CD’s, bottles of medications, documents and any other items that need to be identified. RNIB has developed a demonstration video of the PENFriend, which is available through most adaptive technology vendors or consumer product vendors

  • The Braille King is an innovative, portable four-line slate and stylus that eliminates the need to emboss Braille using the mirror or reverse right to left method as is necessary with all other slate and styluses.   • The KNFBReader is the result of a collaberative effort between Kurzweil Technologies Inc.and the National Federation of the Blind in the United States. This innovative reading software has been especially designed for and paired with the Nokia mobile phones to create the smallest text-to-speech reading devices currently available.
