The Access 2 Entertainment Card is a national program developed jointly by Motion Picture Theatre Association – Canada and the National Advisory Council of Disability Associations. The Access2 Entertainment program is administered by Easter Seals Canada. The card allows a guide, assistant, or attendant accompanying a person with a disability to be admitted to participating venues, attractions and movie theatres either for free, or at a reduced rate.
This program is not limited to persons with a vision loss; it is offered to all individuals with a documented disability who require the assistance of a guide or attendant when going to participating venues/attractions or a movie theatre. Moviegoers with a sensory disability will be pleased to know that many movie theatres in Canada are equipped with descriptive service (DS) and rear-window captioning (RWC), an advocacy initiative launched by Access for Sight-Impaired Consumers in 2001.
PLEASE NOTE: The Access 2 Entertainment card program is not an initiative of Access for Sight-Impaired Consumers.
